If you receive Windows Update error 08X00B0100, it means that a file needed by Windows 7 update is corrupted or missing.
Windows Update error 08X00B0100 is one of the problems that the tool can check for and repair. For example, an update might not install if a damaged system file prevents the update from recognizing the version of Windows that's running on your computer.
Run the SFC /SCANNOW command. This will check and repair if necessary any critical Windows system files.
Click on Start/All programs/Accessories then
Right click on Command Prompt option and select 'Run as administrator'.
At the command prompt enter: SFC /SCANNOW


After completing the scan, try installing the windows udpates.
